I found Dogs for Kids on a google search and then found Amazon had the best price. It is a great mag- just the right balance of reading and pictures. And, unlike some magazines, it's not biased toward one type or size of dog. Cute pull out posters, too. They said it would take 6-8 weeks to receive, but she got her first issue within about 3 weeks! I'm pleased. My 10 year old son loves it as well, so I feel I got my money's worth. ...more

Pointing Dog Journal is the only one I still subscribe to - it has great articles, great pictures, and overall is of a very high quality. I loaded her favorite music on it and away she went. The earbuds are too big for her ears but the built in speaker is good enough. She keeps it clipped to her waste and takes it everywhere. It uses a AAA battery and I'm pretty impressed with the battery life,haven't replaced it yet. If you don't mind the size of it I highly recommend it. ...more

I have never bought a dog magazine before because, in my opinion, they have not been very appealing to me. BUt Modern Dog has that edge to it - very cool and very well written. Bronze - Used to describe Newfoundlands, this color is usually a tinge in a black coat caused by the sun. It is like the color of the metal of the same name, which can be described as a moderately bright, yellowish brown. Color definitions may vary by breed. Jack Russell Terrier - A terrier originating in England, having a small sturdy body, straight legs, and a smooth, mostly white coat that has brown or black markings.
Labrador Retriever - A breed of dog originating in Newfoundland, having a short, yellow, black, or brown coat and a tapering tail and used in hunting to retrieve felled game.
